This department is run with the cooperation of state government. A majority of the children are admitted through the District Children Welfare Board and the juvenile law. Boys(0-20 years) are brought up,educated,trained and rehabilitated. The government provides grants for children of this department. The department helps these children to complete their education and to become self-reliant members of the society.

Social welfare department has permitted the founding of an old age home for around 135 old leprosy patients. These people have not been socially accepted and thus find their home here. There are about 135 old, crippled and dying leprosy patients here.The institution looks after then till their death. Apart from this, the institution has a library, a garden, a nursery, fields and a cattle from cows. They cater to the various needs of the institution. Dadhichi hospital :

The great rishi Dadhichi sacrificed his life and offered his ashes to create a weapon. In this way, Dadhichi hospital was established for the treatment of leprosy patients. Here treatments, surgeries, check up, blood tests, diagnosis, artificial limp are made available through medical specialist. Doctors provide treatment to patients who have infectious or non-infectious leprosy. Also processes for rehabilitation and all-round development of patients who are cured for disease have also been undertaken. Today, this department has facilities to provide treatment and house to 750 patients. Medical treatment is provided free of cost. But all this work depends completely on the cooperation and donation from public. The state government meets a part of the expanses.
