Shri Sant Acchyut Maharaj was well known Saint from Vidarbha Region. He is disciple of Rashtra-Sant Tukdoji Maharaj and Shri Sant Gadge Maharaj. He was in the service of mankind and has a special inclination for poor heart disease patients. The poverty line patients cannot afford highly expensive, sophisticated heart surgery that too at metropolitan city like Mumbai and have to lose their precious life due to poverty. Shri Sant Acchyut Maharaj craves to offer services to heart patients since long. He had a dream to establish heart hospital in Amravati region. So people along with his disciples struggled hard day & night, to achieve this noble dream. They have succeeded in establishing charitable Heart Hospital at Amravati.

He served legendry freedom fighter in his work. He worked in Cultural and social independence in the field of journalism and environment. He fight for independence as well as participated in the work of Dr.Patwardhan. In Struggle between Dr.Patwardhan and government he worked as a mediator.Balasaheb contributed crucial time of his life in shape up Tapovan with Dr.Pathwardhan.

To create a model with giving treatment to old age leprosy patients through Indian Medical Association this Dajisaheb`s challenge accepted by Dr.Motilal Rathi. In 1973 when Dajisaheb went Mumbai for eye surgery for one and half month,He managed whole work of Tapovan Hospital.Since 1974 he was a member of administrative body .He served as President of VMS Mandal Tapovan since August 2008 till his life breaks in Dec 2016.

He was connected to Tovavan since 1974.He was renowned surgeon in Amravati.For critical surgery Dr.Patwardhan used to call Dr.Alsi.He started operations of deformities in hands,legs of leprosy patients in Tapovan.He did special training under Dr.Guthe at kothara hospital for surgeries of leprosy patients.
